Episode #17: Encore – The AIP Evolved Manifesto Part I is a fun chat with our AIP blogging community friends from all over the globe. We take a few minutes to chat with ten different bloggers on one point each from our AIP Evolved Manifesto. They share with us how they have lived out that particular tenant in their own healing journeys. This encore episode is for you if you like “real life” perspectives on AIP and/or you want to virtually be introduced to some of your favorite bloggers.

If you’d like to share how you have lived out a tenant of the manifesto, please share in the comments here. Obviously, we are big fans of learning how folks everywhere are restoring their health using AIP.

I have a question on reintroduction that perhaps you can help to answer in an upcoming podcast. I have been AIP for the last 50+ days. During the AIP process, I discovered I am sensitive to Avocado, so I will start with that one first per the suggestions in Angie’s Alternative Auto-Immune Cookbook. If I am still sensitive to Avocado, perhaps I am not ready for phased re-intros. This is my theory at least because I never used to have (or at least be aware) that I was sensitive to Avos. BUT once I do start to reintroduce, how do you manage “spices” that have been omitted? Referring to Angie’s book, it also says 1/2 teaspoon, wait, etc. But do you do this with the spices too? For example do you take them straight or intro a little on top of “foods that are allowed”. Maybe this is a silly question…

Thanks for all that you do!

    Best,
    Gretchen

Hey Gretchen! You are on track with the avocado, although if you find you are still sensitive, it doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t try other reintroductions… it just means that you still don’t tolerate the avocado! With the spices, you start with one spice at a time, working from the stages chart (so seed spices would be stage 1). You can mix them in with an otherwise AIP meal. You don’t want to mix them with other reintroductions – the reason being you won’t know what is affecting you, if you have a reaction. Good luck with your reintroduction process!

Girls, I’ve missed you!! Its like meeting an old friend.. Listening in my kitchen prepping my lush lunch (liver, onions, garlic and lots of greens). Just wanted to give you a shout out for your glorious work. It can be such a lonely old place for those of us early on in our journey feeling rough.. But also recognising how far I’ve come, nodding along here to all the great advice and storing away good info for the future. A massive thank you from across the pond!! Wishing you love and light in your days today. XXX
