Community Update – April 2016

FB_Post#4

The monthly Community Update is where we give you a heads up on some great offerings in the way of podcasts, video series, and local in-person meet-up groups. If you have started a local support group on Facebook (no pages please), send us the link through our contact page and we will promote it monthly.

#HowIAIP

From April 25 to 29, the international AIP community came together for #HowIAIP week to spread the word about how we live the AIP Manifesto. Here are the posts written by our fellow AIP bloggers giving a glimpse at how they lead a balanced and vibrant life on the AIP.

AIP Meetup Groups

Find a local networking group centered around the Autoimmune Protocol! Be advised that these are not disease-specific support groups, but are to facilitate in-person networking and support for those on or considering the Autoimmune Protocol. Each group has their own moderation and rules for membership, but generally they are private and supportive of those on their healing journeys. Know that this listing does not imply endorsement by Autoimmune Paleo, groups are not run by us, and your request to join and any information you may encounter in these groups is at your own risk.

If possible, please request membership in a group local to where you live — after all, the whole idea is to get together with others in your community who are facing similar challenges! Health coaches, practitioners, online marketers, and others trying to sell their products, know that many of these groups are well moderated and solicitation will not be tolerated. If there isn’t a group near you, consider starting your own and letting us know about it on our contact page!

The NE Florida AIP group link resluts to no post. Is there any other group here in Florida? What kind of doctor do I need to consult who will best diagnose if I really have this autoimmune disease? I am very much aware that I have developed food intolerance but I need an official confirmation from a doctor. Please direct me to the right specialist. Thank you!

Hi Kim! We don’t run the groups, so if a group isn’t alive or active anymore someone in the community needs to step up and start one. Wishing you luck!

Hi, I have been suffering from Microscopic Colitis for the past 5 years and I am looking for someone else who has this disease as it is very rare and I would love to talk to someone. Anyone out there??!!

    • Mickey Trescott says

Hi Erica! We don’t keep track of everyone who writes us here, but I think you might have some luck posting in some of the AIP support groups on FB. Wishing you luck!

  • Good afternoon, Mickey!

We used to order your AIP cookbooks from Greenleaf at wholesale to sell to our patients. When we went to place an order, Dylan let me know that you were now printing them yourself. How do we get started setting up a wholesale account to continue selling your cookbooks in our office?

(I apologize for leaving a comment but I have had the most difficult time trying to find an email or phone number to contact for the current distributor.) Look forward to carrying your cookbooks in our office again. Patients love them!

    -Dr. Bruner

Hi Rebekah! I sell my book The Autoimmune Paleo Cookbook through my distributor Chelsea Green Publishing. If you’d like to order directly from them their wholesale order number is 800.639.4099. I’ll also shoot you an email. Thanks for the inquiry!
