Yoga Healing

Okay, confession time…I don’t like yoga. I know, I know. It’s almost sacrilege in the natural health world to say you don’t like yoga. So imagine my surprise when I recently tried Yoga for Healing by Tera Bucasas…and I loved it!

Here’s the thing, it’s likely that I’m not zen enough. I’ve tried yoga classes all over the world and I’ve done tons of yoga videos at home, but I’ve never enjoyed it. Here’s what goes through my head while I’m in a yoga class:

  • “Did she just say namaste? For real?”
  • “Comfortably hold this position? Is anyone here actually finding this comfortable?”
  • “Am I trendy enough to be here? Look at all these cool yoga people.”

Practicing yoga with videos at home isn’t much better; my internal voice is usually saying something. See what I mean? Not zen enough.

That was the standout for me with Tera’s program. There’s none of the fake serenity, there aren’t impossible poses that supposedly anyone can do, and I didn’t worry that my wardrobe and yoga “accessories” weren’t trendy enough. Tera is a Registered Yoga Teacher through the Yoga Alliance and has completed her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training through Corepower Yoga, with over 100 additional training hours. Importantly, she has also struggled with chronic illness.

It was her experience going from a very fit, energetic yoga instructor to someone dealing with extreme fatigue, deep depression, and physical pain that inspired the Yoga for Healing program. Tera took her training and crafted a gentle yoga practice for those who are walking the path back to wellness — people like me and maybe like you. People who need an authentic, achievable, no-frills way to work toward daily fitness, as well as access some of the deeper aspects of healing.

Tera is showing the community how to slow things down and move the body in a way that is aligned with its current state. Her program includes seven unique workout videos, a 25-page workbook, posture lists and modification videos for all seven workouts, focus sheets for both the physical and deeper aspects, and a yoga journal. I want to tell you exactly why I love this program so much with a simple list.

Reasons why I love Yoga for Healing:

1) Authenticity!

It is clear from the first video that Yoga for Healing is genuine. There aren’t a bunch of flowery phrases, there’s no “soothing” New Age music in the background. There’s just Tera leading you through a gentle routine. In one video she even acknowledges, with frank openness, that some days our bodies might not feel great and our yoga practices won’t be as strong. I found this really affirming. It encouraged me to try my best without harsh judgments on my autoimmune body.

2) Design.

I love things that are well planned. I like helpful details. I love organized information presented in a beautiful package. Yoga for Healing delivers. The design of the worksheets, the carefully laid-out information, the modifications, the step-by-step leadership of Tera as your instructor, even the simple background set for the videos — all of it shows so much attention to detail and thoughtfulness. It is clear that Tera’s aim is to offer a truly valuable product.

3) Adaptability.

I don’t even own a yoga mat. I maintain a walking routine, but I have struggled greatly in my autoimmune journey with regaining the energy required for demanding workouts. Sometimes it’s tough for me to get through even basic fitness routines. Yoga for Healing makes it so easy to adapt to your current ability, even changing daily (since we all know with AI disease things can change from moment to moment). Tera has planned it right into the program, allowing you to modify, focus on areas of your body where you feel more capable, or even just quietly work on breathing while attempting to bring your mind closer to a healing focus.

Get this program now! You will not be disappointed!

I would like to see a sample of the routines and materials before purchasing. I looked but none appears to be available. The link to contact Tera doesn’t work, either!
