Quarterly Community Update: April 2021

FB_Post#4

The quarterly Community Update is our chance to give you a heads up about AIP community news, podcasts, video series, and local in-person meet-up groups. If you have started a local support group on Facebook (no pages please), send the link to [email protected] and we will promote it!

State of AIP 2021

We’re always working to embody the concept of servant leadership (something we truly believe in, not just something we say!) in our work to strengthen the AIP movement and potentially influence the future standard of care for those newly diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. We feel the best way to do this is by making sure you, our community, know where we have recently focused our energy and where we are planning to concentrate it in the future. Our annual “State of AIP Address” is an opportunity for us to introduce the new members of our community to the roots of AIP, plus review the prior year and discuss potential areas of growth for the future.

So, what happened in the AIP movement in 2020? Read our recap here.

AIP Certified Coach Enrolled Our 2021 Cohort!

In the last 3 years, we’ve trained 300+ practitioners, including doctors, on how to effectively integrate AIP into their practices to best serve our community. This spring, we opened up enrollment for our AIP Certified Coach course once again and signed on a promising group of future AIP Certified Coaches. Although enrollment is now closed, keep an eye our in August for when we hold our fall course. You can stay in the loop here.

Community Care is More Important Than Ever

One critical and often overlooked piece of the holistic wellness puzzle is a term you may not be familiar with: community care. Unlike self care, community care acknowledges and addresses the holistic nature of our human connections by breaking down — in large and small ways — the structural challenges to wellness many of us face. These concepts have been gigantic lightbulbs for us in the last year and have informed the way we understand holistic wellness. Angie wrote an excellent article about their importance which you can read right here.

Want to Be Featured on Our Blog?

Right now, we’re looking for contributors to our Kitchen Tour series where you give us a glimpse of your AIP kitchen and tell us how you’ve adapted your home and lifestyle to AIP. Participating is really fun and a great way to inspire and encourage new AIPers. We’d love to feature you! Click here to fill out our interest form.

AIP Meetup Groups

Find a local networking group centered around the Autoimmune Protocol! Be advised that these are not disease-specific support groups, but are to facilitate in-person networking and support for those on or considering the Autoimmune Protocol. Each group has their own moderation and rules for membership, but generally they are private and supportive of those on their healing journeys. Know that this listing does not imply endorsement by Autoimmune Paleo, groups are not run by us, and your request to join and any information you may encounter in these groups is at your own risk.

If possible, please request membership in a group local to where you live — after all, the whole idea is to get together with others in your community who are facing similar challenges! Health coaches, practitioners, online marketers, and others trying to sell their products, know that many of these groups are well moderated and solicitation will not be tolerated. If there isn’t a group near you, consider starting your own and letting us know about it on our contact page!
