Quarterly Community Update: April 2022

FB_Post#4

The quarterly Community Update is our chance to give you a heads up about AIP community news, podcasts, video series, and local in-person meet-up groups. If you have started a local support group on Facebook (no pages please), send the link to [email protected] and we will promote it!

The State of AIP 2022

For the last several years, we’ve marked the start of the New Year with a “State of AIP Address.” It’s an opportunity to introduce all the new members of our community to the roots of AIP, plus review the prior year and discuss potential areas of growth for the future. We’re not the sort of people to sugar coat things though and we fully acknowledge that much like 2020, 2021 wasn’t a year filled with many highlights. This post is to inform the AIP community about where the team here at Autoimmune Wellness has recently focused our energy and where we are planning to concentrate it in the future. Read our whole rundown here.

When Pandemic Stress Becomes Chronic: How to Manage

We published this guest post in January from Dr. Eva Ash, a clinical psychologist and AIP Certified Coach, and it is too good not to share in our update! Today on the blog, Dr. Ash is sharing some important insight about the impact of the pandemic on our stress levels, particularly as members of the AIP community, and what we can do to manage this new kind of chronic stress. These insights have been gained first-hand over the last two years of Dr. Ash’s work supporting clients through the pandemic. Read her full article here.

How to Navigate Anti-Diet Culture on AIP

This is another guest post we published earlier this year that’s simply too good to miss! Chronic illness can make living life feel like an uphill battle. When you’re trying to follow AIP, it can feel like even more of a challenge. This is especially true in a culture that is becoming increasingly “anti-diet” which can leave some in the autoimmune community feeling judged or shamed. A simple way to navigate anti-diet culture while following AIP is by embracing the principles of Health at Every Size® (HAES®). In this article, Tomesha Campbell, Fitness Nutrition Coach and AIP Certified Coach, helps us explore how HAES and AIP can work together to help make your autoimmune journey a little bit easier. Read her full article here.

Want to Be Featured on Our Blog?

Right now, we’re looking for contributors to our Kitchen Tour series where you give us a glimpse of your AIP kitchen and tell us how you’ve adapted your home and lifestyle to AIP. Participating is really fun and a great way to inspire and encourage new AIPers. We’d love to feature you! Click here to fill out our interest form.

AIP Meetup Groups

Find a local networking group centered around the Autoimmune Protocol! Be advised that these are not disease-specific support groups, but are to facilitate in-person networking and support for those on or considering the Autoimmune Protocol. Each group has their own moderation and rules for membership, but generally they are private and supportive of those on their healing journeys. Know that this listing does not imply endorsement by Autoimmune Paleo, groups are not run by us, and your request to join and any information you may encounter in these groups is at your own risk.

If possible, please request membership in a group local to where you live — after all, the whole idea is to get together with others in your community who are facing similar challenges! Health coaches, practitioners, online marketers, and others trying to sell their products, know that many of these groups are well moderated and solicitation will not be tolerated. If there isn’t a group near you, consider starting your own and letting us know about it on our contact page!
