We are so excited to introduce our audience to our very first podcast… welcome to The Autoimmune Wellness Podcast Season 1! We’ve created this podcast as a free resource to accompany our upcoming book, The Autoimmune Wellness Handbook: A DIY Guide to Living Well with Chronic Illness.
Episode #1: What is the Autoimmune Wellness Journey? is all about our mission with the book and podcast series to spark a major shift in how autoimmune disease is viewed and treated all over the globe. We chat about our goals and give a series overview, briefly detailing each of the seven steps on the autoimmune wellness journey. This first episode will give you an idea about the format of the series and a significant dose of empowerment.
If you’d like to go more in-depth, check out the “Introduction,” “Why We Wrote This Book,” and “The Manifesto” sections at the beginning of The Autoimmune Wellness Handbook. We know that most people skim or even completely skip the introductory material in books like ours, but we assure these three short sections are overflowing with inspiration. You can get a little insight on just what lights our fires!

I’d love to subscribe, but the iTunes link doesn t work and I can’t find it by searching the name in podcasts?!
Hi Martina,
iTunes takes a day or so to load for new podcasts, but it should be up now!
Do you know if it will soon be available in the iTunes Canada store? I’m not able to subscribe to the podcast right now. Thanks!
Hi Jenn! It took a little while to update, but it should be available now!
Awesome 🙂 This is so refreshing! Thank you both for your huge hearts and dedication to healing. You Rock!
Aaaaw!! Thanks Anne!
So excited for this!!
Thank you Jessica!!
The synthesizer music comes through my computer speakers horribly. Like my speaks are blown out. You might want to select another instrument or just leave the music out of it entirely.
Otherwise, great stuff, big project you are undertaking and excited to see where you go with it.
Cheers
Hi John! It sounds like your speakers are blown. We’ve tried listening at full volume on a variety of computers, devices, and car stereos, and everything is fine on our end.
Happy you are enjoying the podcast!

Ladies! Finding your podcast has been so reassuring and uplifting for me. I have been struggling with some health issues and you have motivated me to find my Key Player in the medical world who will support me and help me get to the bottom of what is going on. Thank you for sharing your stories, knowledge, and for setting the corner stone for building this community. Warmest Regards!
Thanks for being here Tracy, and best of luck!
Hello,
I have hyperthyroid and noticed you don’t really cover this condition on your podcasts. Can you bring on someone recovering from hyperthyroidism to your podcast? I would like to know what other people have experienced and how they have recovered or dealt with symptoms. I will try the protocol and see if any foods have been triggering my condition. Are there any resources you can direct me to? Anything would be helpful. I am currently taking medication and after one week the symptoms are present but they flare up from time to time especially strong heart beats. Thank you!
Hey Ana! Since we aren’t medical practitioners, we can’t really cover conditions outside our personal experiences with illnesses, and you are right, we don’t have experience with hyperthyroidism. Have you come across Dora’s blog, https://www.provincialpaleo.com/? I believe she has Graves’ disease. Wishing you luck!
Hi Angie and Mickey, I was diagnosed with RA ten years ago, and 3 years ago with Fibromyalgia, apart from that I have suffered from Hypothyroidism for 30 years but I am properly treated with medicine. Because I know these illnesses are impacted by the immune system, I started following you girls back in 2018. I was just so desperate that I started the AIP diet without much preparation for it. I have to confess that this is the first time I hear the podcast, and I really learned a lot just hearing the episode number 1. I did the AIP diet for a year but after I hear the podcast, I don’t think I had all the info I needed it to do it, I started to retro some food but there is a lot of food that I am not eating such as dairy and legumes, etc. I want to start it again but this time around with all the right information so that I can make it a way of life. I promise I am committed. Loved to hear you, your voices, coordination and your knowledge are just perfect for this awesome work you are committed to do! Kudos for you two!
Thanks so much Martha! We’re glad the podcast provided extra detail to help you use the protocol even more successfully.
